![]() EXCLUSIVE: Radio interview with Jac Dalton & Graham Greene The long awaited release of ICARUS is almost upon us, and Jac & Graham will be joining Nana Mex and Donna G for an exclusive preview of GTN's first collaboration to bear fruit. ICARUS has been mixed by Grammy Award Winner Gregg Browne and Australia's Darren Mullan, engineered by Grammy Award Winner John Hampton and mastered by Grammy Award Winner Richard Dodd. Stay tuned for more information about this exclusive release show where we will play the awesome songs from ICARUS - and we'll also be divulging the previously unannounced version of an Aussie Rock Classic done in true Southern style. From the Jac Dalton bio: THERE'S A STORM COMING... ICARUS is the current release from Jac Dalton, and marks a significant development in his sound and style. The Renegade Southern Gentleman from Downunder has distilled a blend of melodic rock that pays homage to the classics and Australia while forging a new musical identity. Ten tracks of Jac Dalton at his best, in the company of some amazing Aussie talent that have just raised the bar for contemporary Oz rock. From the soaring vocals and guitars and uplifting message of the title track Icarus to the anthemic State Of Rock, the groove laden riffs of Waterline and the bone-crunching Suck, Bang, Blow (co-written with Rose Tattoo’s Rob Riley and SA legend Doobie Whitehorn – a tribute to a chain of Harley Davidson bars in South Carolina and Canada of the same name), ICARUS offers up a sound and performance that will resonate across borders and generations. Having broken new ground with his first release, the country/rock crossover CD, ‘From Both Sides’ - featuring Mark Evans (AC/DC), Russell Morris, David Moyse (Air Supply), John and Rick Brewster, Buzz Bidstrup and Chris Bailey (The Angels), Paul DeMarco and Rob Riley (Rose Tattoo), Gwyn Ashton (BB King, Mick Fleetwood) and UK’s Paul Wetton (Robert Plant Band), and after the success of the two ‘rockier’ tracks from the CD - ‘Til We Run Outta Highway’ and ‘Dirty Mean & Nasty’ which saw over 40,000 plays for these two tracks alone (APRA) since the album’s release in 2008 - coupled with over 2.5 million hits on MySpace to prove the point, it was an obvious choice for Jac to step up to the plate to deliver the sublime rock album ICARUS. This 'all killer and no filler' album has been produced by Grammy Award Winner Gregg Brown (USA) and Darren Mullan (Australia) at the world famous Ardent Studios in Memphis, Tennessee. In Gregg's own words, "It's where I've done my best work". Multi Grammy Award winning engineer John Hampton, an Ardent stalwart, took a personal interest in the album and came on board as engineer, while exceptional mastering was done by fellow multi Grammy Winner Richard Dodd. It is more than one opinion that this album is going to shake things up on both sides of the equator. In the words of Mr. Hampton: "I'm ecstatic!" The "ICARUS sampler" is on Jac Dalton's myspace page or download the sampler from Jac's website. Read the story from the start here! |
