About Siobhan Owen

Hauntingly Beautiful Voice & Harp

15 year old Siobhan from Adelaide, South Australia, is a classically trained singer with a pure, soprano voice. Born in North Wales to a Welsh father and Irish mother, she has certainly inherited the rich Celtic singing tradition. She is regularly invited to perfom at festivals, concerts, recitals, weddings etc. where she captivates audiences with her "hauntingly beautiful" voice.

Early Start
Siobhan has been singing since she was very young. At 9 years of age she gave her first major solo performance in a "Riverdance" style show called "Shades of Green" which toured South Australia. She recorded her first CD "With Love From Siobhan" at the age of 10 as a gift for family and friends.  When Siobhan was 12 she gave her first major solo performance at the Adelaide Festival Theatre, singing the beautiful “My Lagan Love”. Siobhan has been a winner of many local Eisteddfods and competitions since her first Eisteddfod in 2003.

The Harp
Siobhan was invited to sing with French singer/harpist Cecile Corbel and her band at the 2008 Adelaide Fringe Festival after they met on Myspace! Singing with Cecile inspired Siobhan to learn to play the harp. After playing for only a year, Siobhan often accompanies her beautiful singing on harp - an ethereal blend!

Siobhan is a soloist/chorister with Adelaide's St Francis Xavier Cathedral Choir where she receives a Choral Scholarship. She has also been guest soloist in concerts with the the Graduate Singers, the Metropolitan Male Choir and the Woodville Concert Choir.

Theatre
Siobhan has performed in two Youth Operas with the State Opera of South Australia and in many Musical Theatre productions around Adelaide.

Other Interests
Still with music - as well as singing and playing harp, Siobhan also plays piano, Irish whistle and snare drum. She is the Captain of the school's "Drum Corps".

Non-musical pursuits - Siobhan practices the martial art of Taekwondo. She enjoys drawing, reading and learning languages.

Siobahn's new harp was created by South Austrlalian harp maker, Tim Guster

Siobhan is unique. She sounds like herself!
Her voice has been described as "hauntingly beautiful", "stunningly distinctive", "exquisite" and "the True Voice of an Angel!".
