Nana Mex and The Global Thunda Network Team are a separate entity. The name Downunda Thunda itself was coined by Katherine 'Nana Mex' Juestel several years ago prior to Downunda Thunda Radio PTY LTD, and in this instance relates to the Thunda Team (previously the Downunda Thunda Team). We own the website downundathunda.com.au which up until recently simply pointed to our site (www.globalthundanetwork.com) neither of which are in any way associated with Downunda Thunda Radio PTY LTD.
In response to Phil Gottshcalk's allegations (at the bottom of the page) on 18 Oct 2009:

As clearly stated on the section of our terms and conditions on the Sponsor information page:
"This invoice will be your receipt and is only tax deductible under your normal promotional and advertising costs at tax time. We are currently not a charity organisation (Deductible Gift Recipient), although we rely solely on donations to provide and continue our public service".
Non For Profit does not always align with being a DGR (Deductible Gift Recipient). We have never claimed to be a charity organisation. Should our circumstances change, you all will be the first to know.

The totality of the Global Thunda Network team (previously the Downunda Thunda Team) are volunteers none of who recieves any money for the work we do collectively on Global Thunda Network. Any funds recieved go straight into the running of the streams and building Global Thunda Network (receipts available). Where there is not enough money to cover the monthly fees, the funds come out of Donna Greene's personal pocket and Nana Mex's disability pension. The Team have also been known to donate via the GTN Tip Jar via the home page.
GTN began in late November 2008, but was not launched until February 2009. As with any reasonable business practice, we collectively agreed to test the water off our own backs without seeking any outside financial support until when in April 2009, Donna filed for an ABN for GTN, which her Tax Agent then provided. From April - October 2009 GTN has received in total less than $1400 in donations.

Without Malice, we are forced to respond: In response to Phil Gottschalk's (Phil Raymond's) recent misguided claims that GTN is trying to emulate or 'rip off' him and DTR or anyone else is purely an attempt to slander the volunteer work we've done with GTN. His threats to sue GTN are unwarranted. Perhaps his attempts at slandering and discrediting GTN is a result of someone with nothing else to do but to continue to try to pull others down. We have always been transparent about our business and have steered right away from having anything to do with DTR. When the volunteers left DTR, the only thing they took with them was their collective tag - Downunda Thunda, as coined by Nana Mex. This was agreed to at the time of Nana Mex's resignation from Downunda Thunda Radio PTY LTD along with her rights to www.cosmiccloudsradio.com.au - a site neither of the directors of DTR were interested in. To be honest, we're surprised that Phil Gottschalk (aka Phill Raymond) is still even bothering to look at us all this time later (over one year on - Nana Mex resigned from DTR in November 2008).
If it is such a big 'sting' for us to use the term 'Downunda Thunda' originally coined by Nana Mex, then why was Phil Gottschalk (aka Phill Raymond) who lives in NSW still using the GTN postal address in Carnarvon as his own for DTR until a couple of months ago? His tax papers were sent back to the tax office some weeks ago and the ATO have now been informed that the DTR postal address was defunct as of almost one year ago.
Perhaps Phil Gottschalk (aka Phil Raymond) is pursuing some kind of personal vendetta, but whatever his reasons, they are unfounded. We have gotten on with it and respectfully suggest he does the same.

Update 24 November 2009:
Since this quite unnecessary attack on our integrity, we have updated www.downundathunda.com.au with Nana Mex's background info. You now have a choice about whether you click through to GTN, or you can simply close the page or surf away to suit yourselves. Perhaps ironic that no one even knew the site was there until Phill pointed it out. It wasn't even ranking. Not that the name on it's own has anything to do with his business. How something so simple can be turned into something so large. Let's hope this finally clears things up for everyone and everyone can relax and get on with doing what they do - UNBIASED MUSIC PROMOTIONS... Clearly!
