Folks, I don't know who is in charge of your advertising here in Australia, or anywhere else for that matter, but..... The auto load pop-up videos are hurting your Corporate Image, which is already battered and bruised. People like me (intelligent and broke thanks to big corps like yourselves) are going no where near products that eat up expensive bandwidth and TIME, according to what I see and hear via the literally thousands of people I communicate with regularly on line. This goes for ALL auto load pop-up video advertisers. My ISP found this out with the first one they tried to run on their members only website. It came down in days after the numbers of complaints piled up.
Promotions and PR is what I do, but I do it from the viewpoint, thanks to big business glutting itself at our expense, of the cash strapped, average user of the Internet, rather than from the perspective of "how much can we get the advertiser to pay for it" ad-man, and I do it as a volunteer, along with a team of volunteers, who manage to market our "products" globally and successfully without the in your face tactics.
People don't like having big business in their faces right now, not that you big guys would notice. We are moving away from global products and in your face bull to what works the cheapest and doesn't leech time and bandwidth. Products that are not part of the problem.
Not that you guys will care what I have to say, as I am not getting big bucks as a consultant or marketing guru. Nor do I care whether you care. I really just want you to know how dumb your promotions department is. Next time you look to shave your workforce, I suggest you start there.
