Powerage  Rock / Classic Rock

"A New Generation Of Modern Rock 'n' Roll"
Hinton - near Newcastle, New South Wales

About Powerage

PowerageThe Crawford and Minett brothers whose ages range from 14 to 18 have been performing in venues mainly around Newcastle and the Hunter Valley in Australia since early 2005. Boosted by stage-storming performances on the NRL Footy show at Sydney Entertainment Centre at their then very young ages ranging from 9 to 13, the band has continued to grow and move on to develop their own brand of 70's, 80's sounding classic rock which they have been performing since early 2008.

The band is based in Hinton, a little country town north of Newcastle. They have been together for over four years now, and are committed to writing catchy, kick arse rock songs and taking their music to the world. Not only that, but the band has continued to receive a huge amount of positive wraps wherever they play. Listen to their tunes and catch them live sometime!

Hobnobbing...
The boy's show their respect.
The whole band went to the Stevie Wright interview night - The Godfather of Rock - at The Laycock Theatre in North Gosford. an amazing man what a life story so far...didn't realise the Easybeats had had so many hit songs - Sorry, Wedding Ring, Friday on my Mind, Good Times, I'll make you happy.  As for Stevie...he's certainly been up and down in his career but what a courageous guy to tell it how it was.  Every upcoming band should listen to this kind of stuff... it really was an eye-opener.  Afterwards we met Stevie and had some photos, got his autograph.  One of Stevie's best known songs is Evie Parts 1, 2 and 3 - the longest rock song ever recorded. Powerage sometimes do Evie Part 1 when we do a couple of covers..great song!!!

Sounds Like "A New Generation of Modern Rock n Roll"
Record Label Independent release:
Looking for distribution

Two days later:  Out for lunch in Sydney with Buzz Bidstrip.  Yeah that's the guy in our profile photo.  The drummer of Australian band The Angels really down-to-earth and loves our stuff.  Meeting him and his wife Kay was such a pleasure - again some knowledge about the industry... it's a big wide world out there but we aim to make it.
We ate at a restaurant /cafe called Blu-Really - nice food and SO popular. Mum and Dad even spotted Kamahl !!! Yeah I hear you say who's he???? So did we..he was very well-known in the 60's and 70's in Australia.  Anyway 3 hours later it was time to head home
Thanks Buzz and Kay for a great arvo...."
