HORIZON
Rock.
Perth. Western Australia
Lee Bradshaw and Richard Panaia.
Horizon has recently returned from Melbourne having just performed two shows at Spensers Live and The Cubby House in Moonee Ponds and a studio showcase that was filmed and recorded as the very first “Live At Armstrongs” at Melbourne's famous Armstrongs Studios (formally AAV and Metropolis)!
The lineup featured Lee Bradshaw and Richard Panaia (original and founding Horizon members) as well as three of Australia’s elite musicians in Stuart Fraser (Noiseworks, Farnham Band), Angus Burchall (Farnham Band) and James Ryan (Vanessa Amorosi). Horizon was invited to perform for the “Live At Armstrongs” pilot which was filmed and recorded by multi ARIA award winning engineer Doug Brady (Whispering Jack, Age Of Reason, Chain Reaction).
The trip also included a meeting with Australian guitar great Brett Garsed prior to his show at Spensers Live. This was a great ‘complete circle’ moment as Brett has recorded on several Horizon tracks to be included on their soon to be released debut double album. As Brett has been working from his home studio in Queensland, Lee and Rich were yet to meet him face to face so this was a great opportunity to do so.
Horizon also had the privilege of having live sound luminary Grant Walsh (Farnham, Vanessa Amorosi, APRA Awards FOH engineer) mix and engineer their show at Spensers Live.
Excitingly, Horizon have now been invited back to perform at Spensers Live on a bill with rockers Electric Mary (featuring former Southern Sons frontman Jack Jones)!
The “Live At Armstrongs” feature is currently being mixed and edited and will be webcast in the very near future! The performance will also be available as a DVD release along with Horizon’s soon to be completed double debut album.
Horizon is now planning their return to Melbourne in late July to perform more shows and complete the mastering on their remaining album tracks with mastering engineer Martin Pullan (John Farnham, Jimmy Barnes, Natalie Bassingthwaite, Wes Carr, The Black Sorrows).
