Caprycon - Dark Earth
Female fronted progressive rock is seen as a rarity in Perth and Gina Bafile's powerful display of raw vocal talent along with George Garofallou's freakish bass playing are key factors to defining Caprycon's overall sound. The trancing sound of the moog, catchy riffage and heavy byzantinian and European influences throughout 'Dark Earth' are a clever example of Caprycon's excentric and clever musicianship.

Caprycon began in October 2009 as a collaboration between singer Gina Bafile and composer Matthew Young. Initially set out to be a recording project, the ground work was created for a progressive concept album. The purpose was to produce a collection of songs, each one different to the next in simple time whilst demonstrating some technical element. This was successfully delivered and soon enough attracted an array of musicians wanting to experiment with the songs. By June 2010 Caprycon became a six piece band, and the songs evolved from there. Their topics of interest include melancholy & fantasy and they have blended middle eastern sounds, european influences, jazz and classical aspects into some of their orchestrations as well as keeping a catchy melody.
Their Debut EP 'Dark Earth' is Available Now in all good stores through Firestarter Distribution.
