West coast rock trio Ragdoll have just released their hotly anticipated debut EP - Ragdoll Rock. Recorded in Perth, Western Australia at Crank Studios, the band’s first offering contains four tracks designed to showcase their considerable technical and creative range. |

Ragdoll Rock gets off to an explosive start with Foot to the Floor, a high-speed „fast cars/faster women‟ tune that just makes you forget your troubles and rock out. “Foot to the Floor is a track I really enjoy”, says lead vocalist and bass player, Ryan Rafferty. “It’s straight ahead, fist pumpin’ rock. Fun to play, fun to sing… a great song for angry, sweaty, head-spinning, knee-buckling sex”. |

The pace slows slightly for the thought provoking The Feeling, before the mood darkens with track three, Ashamed. The EP rounds out with perhaps Ragdoll’s most commercial song In My Mind. |

Blazing their own trail through the Wild West since early 2010, Ragdoll have carved out a name for themselves as one of Perth’s hottest bands. The three-piece are known for their high energy shows and amazing feats of musicianship. Lead by the powerful and soulful vocals of Ryan Rafferty, reminiscent of golden era Coverdale, Fogerty and Plant, their distinctive brand of Rock is infused with unforgettable, crunching guitar riffs intertwined with intricately woven melodies and mesmerising solos courtesy of Leon Todd, all backed by a freight train of a rhythm section driven by the thunderous drums of Cam Barrett. Ragdoll‟s influences are broad and many, from the soul of the Blues pioneers to latter day greats like Trower, ZZ Top and Bonamassa, to the Classic Rock maestros like Zeppelin and Purple at their collective peaks, the melodies of Lizzy and Foreigner and the sheer unrelenting hard-rock class of Whitesnake and Van Halen. All have played their part. The result is a sound that stands alone, a sound that is unmistakably Ragdoll. |
